Venice, the city quiet

There are few cities that you can visit a second time, keeping intact its magic, one of which is Venice, the city with no land, the city with no space above the city (and hopefully for good long time still) waters.

Canale Grande

For those who do not know, Venice is seem like a mythical city, like Macondo, as El Dorado, like Atlantis. A city invented by philosophers, politicians out of work, from film directors. Why more or less lived a overflow (or saw on the news) and knows that when the waters invade the streets any city becomes impossible, uninhabitable. Therefore one must know it, live there for a few days to understand, but that is superficial, its miraculous existence.

Piccolo canale

First of all, isolation. Venice is a few quilometro the mainland (it was, today, a long bridge allows the train to arrive and the machines-which, fortunately, remain in an extreme City-), then, the sense of detachment of the real world and one of the first feelings that affect the visiting Venice, physically, remains outside of everyday reality.

Rialto

Then, the streets, a set of channels and canals for the boats that transport people, but also food, furniture, all the stuff they need people to live normally. And the narrow streets, pedestrian only (I repeat: no cars, motorbikes, bicycles), in which people walk, as long ago-carts and carry on any class of goods. Canals and alleys (the cut-o-connected to small bridges with steps) that set a pace calm and quiet: little noise, moving on foot or, even better, with nice boat while dripping with the most beautiful palaces of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries greet us with gravity without hiding the signs of time.

Vaporetto

Why, moreover, there are palaces, big and old buildings that show us the irregular lines of a city built on mud and wood that sinks a little 'to the case, over here and a little 'under there, like an old woman who stands barely on the stick, but always with the dignity of white hair.

Palazzo

But Venice is not a dead city, or appossito a scenario to attract tourists, has its life, with the norm of any other city in the world, with large and small things that make it beautiful.

Mercato

conservarà Who knows if enough magic for a third visit. Perhaps, the lucky traveler and think more in return, by any means.
