concert bells Yesterday, the day of Saint Vincent Martyr, the patron saint of Valencia, I could see at the touch of bells in the cathedral. Extraordinary because it was the feast of the patron and why we heard the bells on the wide hall.
The bell tower of the cathedral is an octagonal Gothic tower that was built a few feet of the cathedral today, however, after the last enlargement of the temple in the fifteenth century, is already attached to it.
Map Room of the bells, these are inside the thick walls of the tower. The arrow indicates the entrance of the spiral staircase.
The tower has four bodies. The first is massive, since it must bear the full brunt. The second has a house called "prison", but that was really where I live to justice the fugitives who had sought refuge in the cathedral. The third body found 'the interior of the bell, the last of whom lived there until the early twentieth century. And finally, the fourth body, below the terrace where you can see the whole city, we find the room of the bells, which we have witnessed this extraordinary concert.

The show was double: on the one hand, the sound that made us miss assordente the air, one of the other, the maneuvers of the bell (no automation, the whole concert handmade), so close to the great masses of iron and wood seem to be moving to another for a moment they would be removing the head .
The bell ringers at work
bell today I have nothing to do with the old (forgotten Quasimodo, please), are men of all ages (between twelve and sixty years) and of all employment (students, accountants, gardeners, lawyers, professors ...) belonging to a cultural society, Campaners de la Catedral de València (), which not only do not earn a penny with this, but also pay a small annual amount to help the restoration of the old bells, the work of investigation, and so on.
You can not account for this show either with words or with images or with the recording of the sound of the bell (photographs and registration website Campaners de la Catedral de València), but can be used to come to terms with small idea and, above all, to thank these people for their cultural work.
