Like a bomb exploded yesterday in network news that some American scientists have conducted, in the '40s, the experiments on Guatemalans - with the tacit consent of their leaders - to check the possible healing powers of penicillin against most common venereal diseases such as gonorrhea and syphilis.
The fact it seemed severe enough to induce the first Hillary Clinton, the American Foreign Minister, and then the president Obama, apologize personally with the President of Guatemala, on behalf of the whole nation. But the big American networks have chosen to go hano the news in the background, only for the minimum space, while our national heroes of the information they felt even ignore it altogether.
They have instead talked about widely, as expected, all major Latin American newspapers. (To my great pleasure and surprise, the chain Telemundo has invited me to comment on the report in the evening TG).
